Home Visits

Home visits are for the totally housebound or very seriously ill. Please telephone before 10.30am and be prepared to give the receptionist some indication of the nature and urgency of the problem. The doctor will usually wish to speak to you before arranging to visit.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre

Training and Teaching

Our practice is accredited for training of registrars to become general medical practitioners. These doctors are fully qualified and have previous hospital experience of varied length and specialities.  Initially these doctors sit-in with partners during the consultations. We will inform you of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, we will respect your wishes. This will not affect your treatment in any way. Once they are settled in the practice they will consult and you will be asked about whether or not you would want to consult a registrar.

From time to time our registrars (doctors in training) record video of their consultations. This is for their training purposes only. We will only do this with your agreement and you may later decide to have the consultation deleted. All video discs are stored securely and confidentially on the premises and are erased as soon as their use for training is finished.
